NORTHEN ROUTE (road/enduro, Moscow - St.Peterburg)

This unique route leads you through famous Russian Golden Rings towns to Karelia the land of 160 thousand lakes! You will enjoy old towns and villages, Northern specific beautiful landscapes, ancient Russian architecture and warm Russian hospitality. The pearl of this tour is Karelian lake system and well-known village Kizhi.
The Golden Ring is a ring of cities northeast of Moscow. They formerly comprised the region known as Zalesye. These ancient towns, which also played a significant role in the formation of the Russian Orthodox Church, preserve the memory of the most important and significant events in Russian history. The towns have been called “open air museums” and feature unique monuments of Russian architecture of the 12th–18th centuries, including kremlins, monasteries, cathedrals, and churches.

Day 1. Moscow

Arrival to Moscow. Transfer to the hotel. Time for leisure.

Day 2. Moscow

Visit Kremlin. Lunch in typical Russian restaurant. City tour.
Motorcycles getting. Paper formalities. Moscow by night (by bike) dinner in Motorcyclist club Sexton.

Day 3.  Moscow - Yaroslavl, 270 km

Departure from Moscow towards Yaroslavl through Sergiev Posad, Pereslavl-Zalesskiy, Rostov Velikiy, Kurabikha. Visit to Troitse-Sergieva Lavra of in Sergiev Posad, Lunch in Pereslavl-Zalesskiy. Visit to museums of The Iron and The Tea-port  there. Visit to Rostov Kremlin. Arrival to Yaroslavl, Yaroslavl by night.

Day 4. Yaroslavl - Kirillov, 320 km

Departure from Yaroslavl. Visit Missile complex near village Glebovskoe. Visit to old Russian town Vologda, lunch. Visit to the open-air architectural-ethnographic museum, Linen museum in Vologda region and Ferapontov Monastery in Kirillov region.

Day 5.  Kirillov – Medvezhjegorsk, 450 km 

Departure to Beloziersk and visit to Koukov springs. Visit to old port Vytegra. On a way you could see unique engraving Petrogliefs (Late Stone Age) on the east bank of Onezhskoe lake. Departure to Medvezhjegorsk (English name is Town of Bears). Possibility to see the lake (gravel road). On the way visit to the old Church, dated by 1605, Belomor canal lock system in town Povents. Overnight in Medvezhjegorsk.

Day 6. Medvezhjegorsk - Petrozavodsk, 410 km

Departure from Medvezhjegorsk. On the way to Petrazovodsk visit to waterfall Kivach – the second one after Rheinfall and thermal springs Martsialnie vody. Overnight in Petrazovodsk.

Day 7. Kizhi

Visit to Kizhi – open-air architecture museum. Overnight in Petrazovodsk.

Day 8. Petrozavodsk – Lodeynoe Pole, 240 km 

Departure from Petrozavodsk. On the way visit to Shokshinsk quartz open-cut mining and Alexsandr-Svirskiy Monastery (1484). Also you could visit a village Verhnie Mandrogie, where you could see the old Russia and feel Russian traditions. There are elk, quail and pheasant farms, bear open-air cage, vodka museum where you could find 1396 varieties of this spirit.

Day 9. Lodeynoe Pole – St. Petersburg, 225 km

From Lodeynoe Pole you ride to Staraya Ladoga – the oldest Russian town dated back to 862. After that you visit the Shlisselburg fortress (1323) on the Orekh Island. Arrival to St. Petersburg. Bike drop off. Overnight in St Petersburg.

Day 10. St Petersburg.

City tour, visit to Peter and Paul Fortress, Aurora battle cruiser, museum of curiosities and other interesting places of the city. In the afternoon time for leisure. In the evening farewell dinner in the river boat.For riders who depart from Moscow transfer to the rail station or airport.

Day 11. Tour finish
